A Love Poem: The Brightest Star

Endless night bullies my soul
Leaving me with qualms instead of hope
Quiver and gather courage to stand
Shoveling roads with my own two hands
In the pitch black dark I saw a ray
Bright enough to light my way
When the moon erased from the sky
The brightest star was in your eyes

If your light was to fade
I’d feed it love and undying faith
If someday you needed a star
Don’t you dare look too far.
Stare into my mirror gaze
And know that the darkness is only a phase

Stare into my soul, it tells no lies
And see your light reflect in my eyes.

  1. I love reading other peoples poetry on the internet, it can give such inspiration and wonderful ideas.
I especially like the imagery in the lines
Don’t you dare look too far.
    Stare into my mirror gaze
Stare into my soul, it tells no lies.
Wonderful turn of phrase. Thanks for sharing.
